Cynthia McKinney for President

Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente were the 2008 Green Party candidates for President and Vice President. In Connecticut, the Secretary of the State has reported 53 write-in votes for McKinney/Clemente, but we have received many unofficial reports of write-in votes that were not counted or not reported. We hope to see an amended official report soon.

Can a Green presidential campaign help a Republican get elected? First of all, this is a moot question in Connecticut. Our state is not a swing state - its electoral votes have not gone to the Republican candidate since 1988. 2007 Municipal Elections

The Green Party won a historic victory on November 6, 2007, when Jean de Smet of Windham became the first Green elected to top municipal office in a Connecticut town.

In addition, Greens regained representation in New Haven with Allan Brison's election as Alderman.
